Wonhyo Institute course schedule for the first half of 2023

 

“Indian civilization and Buddhism: what follows and what is different?”

 

Buddhists consider Buddhism to be the best teaching and truth. However, it cannot be denied that, like the teachings of the Buddha, Buddhism also originated in the region of India. Therefore, Buddhism emerged and changed in close relationship with India's regional climate, the collective character and customs of the people who lived there, historical experiences, and cultural characteristics.

 

In 2024, Wonhyo School's India lecture prepared a program to highlight Buddhism in its relationship with Indian civilization. In this lecture, we will shed light on the issues of what Buddhism inevitably inherited from Indian civilization, what innovations and independent achievements it achieved, and whether there were any limitations that it inevitably had in its relationship with Indian civilization. .

 

In this course, which will be held for 6 weeks starting from June 5, the relationship between Indian civilization and Buddhism will be discussed through truth, mind, world, god, source, renunciation, precepts, asceticism, sacrifice, sex, goddess, and image. We will explore 12 keywords, including: We welcome the participation of many interested people.
